Art Warren on the Issues in Chesterfield County

Controlling Growth

As Chesterfield County grows, concerns of decreased water quality, traffic congestion, and school overcrowding are also growing. Republican Art Warren understands that to protect our quality of life we must have tighter restrictions on uncontrolled growth. As our Supervisor, Art Warren has helped the Clover Hill District maintain a limited growth rate, as well as ensure that the Swift Creek Reservoir is protected. And he helped initiate the Route 360 Corridor Overlay Requirements, working to reduce traffic congestion.  Often Art has been the only vote against uncontrolled growth and development.

Keeping our Taxes Low

Art Warren works hard to keep our taxes low. That is why our real estate taxes and business taxes have been reduced. Art Warren understands that families deserve to keep more of their hard-earned money. Since being elected to the Board of Supervisors, Republican Art Warren helped secure a triple “A” bond rating for Chesterfield County – one of only 18 counties in the United States to hold that distinction.

Maintaining Quality Schools

Republican Art Warren believes our children deserve a top-quality education. As our Supervisor, Art Warren has worked hard to ensure that more than 80% of our children go on to higher education. Since first being elected in 1992, Art Warren has helped Chesterfield County schools receive increases in funding, improved quality of excellence, and worked to make our schools the best in the state. Art Warren has secured the funding for the construction of the new Clover High School.

Easing Traffic Congestion

With residential and commercial development increasing in Chesterfield County, so is traffic congestion. Art Warren supports requiring high growth areas to address infrastructure concerns before new development is approved. To keep the high quality of life in Chesterfield County, Republican Art Warren understands that proper road construction must coincide with new development.

Protecting Swift Creek Reservoir

The Swift Creek Reservoir provides two vital functions for the citizens of Chesterfield: a dependable source for clean drinking water and natural recreation.  Supervisor Art Warren has voted against excessive growth and development along the reservoir to ensure that Swift Creek remains a viable resource for our children and grandchildren.

Citizens Speak

“We are neighbors of Art Warren as well as friends. On several occasions we have requested information about something of concern in our area, he has never failed to return our calls or get back to us with the information we have asked for.”
